About us

We're five students with one wild idea.

Money Mayhem started as a Year-13 project at Ormiston Senior College in Flat Bush, Auckland. Five of us — running a real business through the New Zealand Young Enterprise Scheme — set out to make financial literacy something students actually want to do. Not a worksheet. Not a lecture. A board game.

Our story

Welcome to the chaos.

"This game started with a simple idea and a lot of creativity to bring our dream to life. We've poured everything into this board game, and we're so excited to finally share it with you. We hope you have fun, learn something new, and leave feeling more confident about your financial future."

Our aim is to build students' financial knowledge while promoting environmental sustainability — through real-life scenarios that make budgeting, decision-making, and money management both practical and enjoyable. Money Mayhem is 100% sustainable: made from recycled 3D-printing filament and recycled wood, safe for the planet, and built in Aotearoa.

YES is Aotearoa's national programme that turns senior secondary students into real business owners — for a real year. We register a real company, raise real capital, design a real product, and answer to real customers. Money Mayhem is what came out of ours.

YES reaches around 85% of New Zealand secondary schools each year. We're grateful to be one of this year's teams — and to the mentors and teachers backing us.
